Most drone light shows last around 10 minutes, which tends to be the ideal length to keep audiences engaged.
However, we can adjust the duration depending on your event and goals.
- Can I see what my show will look like before the event?
Absolutely! At FlightShows, we can provide every customer with a full animation preview of their drone show prior to the event. - Can I fly a drone light show in the UK?
Yes, you can! FlightShows has full permission from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to perform drone light shows across the UK. The UK has stringent aviation safety regulations, and we follow strict procedures to ensure our drone swarm operations are carried out safely and seamlessly. Rest assured, we handle all the aviation safety requirements for your event, so you don’t have to worry about the logistics.
Take a look at our Drone Show Guide to see how we can help you create a breathtaking display in the sky with our state-of-the-art drone technology.
- My venue doesn't allow drones, can you help?
Many venues have general bans on drones due to safety and disturbance concerns. However, we often work with venues to address these worries by clearly explaining our robust safety protocols and professional operations. This approach has enabled us to perform drone shows at locations that initially had restrictions, including sensitive heritage sites.
For instance, we successfully flew 100 drones at Scarborough Castle, an English Heritage property, by securing the necessary permissions and creating a spectacular display near a listed monument. Let’s explore what’s possible at your venue!
- What if the weather is bad?
Our drones are specifically designed to handle the UK's unpredictable climate! We’ve invested heavily in advanced technology that allows our aircraft to operate safely in winds of up to 45 km/h and even in the rain. While we do have strict weather limits for safe operations, these thresholds are high enough that the audience will usually be put off by the weather before we are!
To ensure a smooth experience, we build contingency days into our planning and will discuss alternative options in the event of adverse weather. Your satisfaction and the success of your event are our top priorities!
- Can you fly a drone show in the rain?
Believe it or not, yes! We have invested heavily in a UAS that can operate in up to 1.5mm per hour of rainfall as we are well aware that UK weather can be very unpredictable.
Most other drone show companies cannot operate during any precipitation and we are very proud that our aircraft can!
- Can you fly a drone show if it's windy?
Yes, we can! While there is a limit, our drones are built to handle much stronger winds than most on the market, operating safely in winds up to 45 km/h. We understand that UK weather can be unpredictable, so we've invested in advanced drone technology to ensure we can perform in challenging conditions.
In the rare event that high winds cause a show to be cancelled, we have fair and flexible policies in place to accommodate any changes.
- How long does it take to plan a drone show?
Planning time can range from a few days to several months, depending on the complexity of the show.
For bespoke drone shows, we typically recommend allowing 2–3 months to allow time for creative development, revisions, and approvals.
- Can I use fireworks alongside a drone show?
Yes, absolutely! We can seamlessly integrate our drone shows with other technical elements such as fireworks, lasers, stage lighting, sound, and video. By using timecode, we ensure that all performances are perfectly synchronised, creating a stunning multi-sensory experience for your audience.
- How much does a drone light show cost?
The price of a drone light show primarily depends on the number of drones used.
Larger shows with more drones naturally cost more, but we can often tailor a show to suit different budgets without losing impact.
For reference:
- Wedding drone shows start at at £6,500,
- Stock shows such as our Celebration Drone Show, or special ones such as Christmas, Diwali or Chanukkah drone shows start at £12,500,
- Bespoke drone shows start at £29,500.
